Free Online Tools That'll Help To Grow Your Yoga Business
by Kirsty Darroch on Dec 7, 2022 10:30:00 AM
We have compiled a list of free resources that can be useful for your yoga business. These resources are free, donation-based, or have a free payment tier with a higher fee for additional services.
Your yoga business can use the tools listed at any stage in your development, but we recommend them to small yoga businesses just starting up.
Hootsuite is a social media scheduling tool. Tools like this are beneficial when planning posts for multiple social media accounts simultaneously. Scheduling social media posts saves time and allows you to align your brand messaging across various platforms.
Hootsuite offers a free plan called Freemium, although details on this plan are challenging to access on their website.
Freemium allows you to:
- Manage a maximum of 2 social accounts (for example, 1 Facebook Page and 1 Instagram account).
- Schedule up to 5 posts. Once your number of scheduled posts drops below 5, you can schedule more.
This plan would be perfect for a yoga business building an online presence for the first time. You can upgrade to a more robust Hootsuite plan later. They offer a 30-day trial on paid plans, so you can get a good idea if upgrading is best for you!
Hootsuite's paid plan starts at £39/mo for 1 User and 10 Social accounts with unlimited posts.
Pixabay / Pexels
While running your business, you might need to access stock images for your website, social media or printed materials. Pixabay and Pexels are fantastic alternatives to the more pricy stock image options such as Adobe Stock or iStock.
Pixabay offers stock photography and stock media exclusively under the custom Pixabay license, which generally allows the free use of material with some restrictions. Each image details its individual licensing information.
The platform limits the size of image users can download without an account or payment. Smaller imagery is generally adequate for the web, which makes this resource perfect for your small business.
Pexels offers stock images and copyright-free pictures. The site encourages users to make a small donation and credit creators for the photos, but this is not a requirement, simply good practice.
MailChimp
Mailchimp is a marketing automation platform and email marketing service. Email marketing is vital to communicating with customers and sending newsletters and updates.
Mailchimp is a user-friendly email marketing solution, and they offer a free plan that includes: Forms & Landing Pages, Pre-built Email Templates, and Monthly Email Send ( up to 2,500 sends).
Bear in mind that the free plan only includes 1 seat, meaning that if your business expands to include more employees, you may need to consider upgrading to a paid plan to allow everyone to access the platform. Their paid Essentials plan starts at £9/month and includes 3 seats.
Canva
Canva is a graphic design platform for creating social media graphics, presentations, posters, documents and other visual content. It's massively user-friendly, and even better, it's free!
Canva is great for yoga business owners looking to do design work without purchasing expensive design programs. It doesn't require industry knowledge and the design templates mean that you don't have to be an expert designer to get fantastic-looking content!
Canva also offers a Canva Pro Plan for £99.99 per year. It includes lots of stock images, 1TB of cloud storage, brand kits, and more.
VistaCreate
Vistacreate is another free graphic design software. Where Canva focuses on static images and usability, Vistacreate is particularly useful for animated graphics, YouTube intros and Instagram stories.
The starter level also includes brochure, resume and invoice templates which can be beneficial to yoga businesses getting started.
HubSpot
Hubspot offers a free customer relationship management software (CRM). A CRM is a powerful tool that can help your yoga business to organise and manage your client relationships on a centralised and easy-to-use platform.
The free CRM includes all of the following popular features (and more!):
- Task management
- Email tracking and engagement notifications
- Email templates and scheduling
- Document sharing
- Meeting scheduling
- Live chat
Hubspot also offers several other services and products outwith the CRM system that are paid-for products. These may be something to consider as your business develops.
