Diverse Training Backgrounds Welcomed by Yoga Alliance Professionals
by Claire Campbell on Jul 5, 2024 4:16:51 PM
There’s a common belief that to be a part of Yoga Alliance Professionals (YAP), you must have completed a YAP-accredited course. This can feel restrictive, especially if you’ve received excellent training elsewhere.
Let’s dismantle this myth.
The Reality: Diverse Training Backgrounds are Valued
Here’s the truth: while Yoga Alliance Professionals values high standards, we recognise that the journey to becoming a great yoga teacher can take many paths. You do not have to have completed a YAP-accredited course to join us.
Whether your training was through another organisation or wasn’t YAP accredited, your path is valid. What matters most is the quality and integrity of your teaching, not just the logo on your certificate.
The Solution: Embrace Your Unique Journey and Connect with Us
At Yoga Alliance Professionals, we’re about inclusivity and excellence. We welcome teachers with diverse training backgrounds because diversity enriches the yoga community. We welcome teachers dedicated to excellence, regardless of where they received their training.
We welcome your application if your teacher training course is at least 200 hours long and not pre-recorded. There is a short application form to complete to start your journey to increasing your credibility as a professional yoga teacher.
Why You Should Consider Joining YAP
Joining YAP offers numerous benefits that can elevate your teaching career:
- Professional Recognition: Being a member of YAP gives you credibility in the yoga community. It signifies that you adhere to high standards of practice and ethics.
- Support and Resources: YAP provides a wealth of resources to support your growth as a teacher. You’ll have the tools to enhance your skills from continuing education to professional development.
- Community and Connection: Becoming a part of YAP means joining a vibrant community of like-minded professionals.
Your journey is unique, and your potential is limitless. Don’t let myths and misconceptions hold you back. Reach out to us, explore the possibilities, and take your place in a community that values your dedication and passion for yoga.
